The first annual bootcamp organized by the institute will take place in August 2024. It will be a 5-day long facilitated workshop where 40 researchers from the two campuses will: form interdisciplinary teams of 3-4 individual around unique project ideas; articulate the significance and innovation of those ideas; receive feedback from mentors; and refine those ideas repeatedly until they turn into mini-proposals for seed funding. In the following year, the Institute will then work with the teams to strengthen and submit these project proposals to federal funding agencies and other funding sources.
